Position Summary:

With a $3.2 billion domestic market, myCOI is on track to becoming an early leader of a new, highly lucrative segment of the insurance industry. We are prepped for massive growth and looking for an entrepreneurial-minded Senior Accountant to help take us to the next level. Accounting and Finance Focused Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Manages month end revenue recognition to ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Manages complex customer invoicing and process
  • Follows up on all outstanding receivables
  • Responsible for month end financial reporting to management and investors
  • Manages financial modeling workbook to provide accurate reporting and forecasting to CEO 
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Assist CEO or possibly manage preparation for investor quarterly reports 
  • Evaluates and maintains compliance with tax laws
  • Maintains customer data integrity throughout all databases
  • Prepares commission reports for payroll
  • Manages all expense transactions
  • Approves all expense reimbursements
  • Evaluates and implements new financial software 
  • Helps to identify and implement changes to streamline and simplify data flow from different databases

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

  • Sets up new customers in all databases
  • Facilitates 401k and Healthcare employee enrollments
  • Responsible for edits or additions to employee payroll records (deducations, bonusers, etc.)
  • Manages travel arrangements for trade shows

Travel Responsibilities:

  • No travel requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • SaaS experience 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other applicable tax laws
  • Experience managing complex financial proformas
  • Experience with financial analysis and reporting
  • Experience maintaining strict controls on confidentiality and accounting
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with a variety of audiences
  • Strong Excel and QuickBooks knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strategic mind-set focused on long term process improvements and business performance

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • CPA a plus but not required
